It’s time to start baking for Cookie Walk 2011

It was bound to happen, of course: No sooner do I open my beak and accept a part time job writing for the parish newsletter than I get press–ganged into writing commercials about the Cookie Walk.

Please don’t think I’m boasting, but I’m well aware of the fact I write pretty good advertising copy—my “come-ons” . . . → Read More: It’s time to start baking for Cookie Walk 2011

Give us your time and we’ll give you supper

I suspected the Parish Life Committee had an ulterior motive when they recruited me as a member. Well, they’ve inveigled me into doing “write ups” for them in the newsletter. I must say I’m rather flattered. They obviously like my writing style. Anyway, here goes:

This time heʼs giving us the . . . → Read More: It’s time to give Howard Burnham a fair shake!

Howard Burnham returns as James I

Four hundred years ago the King James Version of the Bible was published. But on Tuesday September 27th, you can learn about the man behind the book! Silly Summer Suppers

Just a reminder that St Stephen’s Silly Summer Suppers are in full swing. Truth to tell, though, it’s hard to think of a less appropriate name than “Silly Summer Suppers” for these remarkable gastronomic events. The only thing silly about these suppers is the price. Where else can you get a home-cooked entrée, salad, and . . . → Read More: Silly Summer Suppers

Truth to tell, its hard to think of a less appropriate name than “Silly Summer Suppers” for these remarkable gastronomic events. Not least, the food is absolutely . . . → Read More: “Silly Summer Suppers” Resume!
